Bela Birman passed away at home, in Stamford, CT on Thursday April 7, 2022, at age 87.
Bela was born in Moscow, Russia, on May 17, 1934 to Yelena and Boris Birman. She had one sister, Tamara.
Bela worked as a civil engineer in the Soviet Union. She engaged in several large projects, including a hydro-electric power station in Siberia, as well as various cultural institutions and health care facilities in Moscow.
She and her family immigrated to the United States in 1993 and settled in Stamford.
Bela loved to travel, spending time in numerous places in eastern Europe, Asia, the eastern US, and Canada.
She loved spending time with family, attending birthdays, picnics, graduations, weddings. And always engaging with children, watching them grow and marveling at their progress.
She is survived by her daughter Yelena, son-in-law Michael, and grandson Boris.
