5 Ways to Honor Your Loved One After They Have Passed

After a loved one has passed there are ways in which you can get the family together or put together a project to honor them and the memory of them. Losing a loved one is a painful experience and planning on a way to honor them can become overwhelming at times. 

 

Here are 5 ideas for you to consider:

Area for Memories: Whether you have shelves or a table in a space, you can collect framed photos, objects that belonged to your loved one, or ones that remind you of them and create an area in memory of your loved one. You can place a candle on the table and light it when you spend time in this area.

 

Quilt: Gathering clothing or materials that belonged to your loved one and putting together a quilt is a good way to keep those memories close by. There are also ways you can transfer photos onto a piece of material and you can incorporate those as well. A quilt is something that can be passed down generation to generation or shared between the family and many stories and memories come along with it.

 

Charitable Activities: Spend some time volunteering at a foundation that was close to your loved one’s heart. If you wish to make a donation to this foundation, you can make the donation in your loved one’s name.

 

Frame a Cherished Garment or Accessory: If your loved one had a piece of jewelry or clothing they wore often or had for a very long time, you can find a frame to fit it and hang it in your home.

 

Plant a tree: Either on your property or on a plot of land you have obtained permission for, you can plant a tree in memory of your loved one. You can add a plaque with their name on it and watch it grow. Planting a tree is a great way to honor your loved one because it represents the cycle of life.

 

Honoring you loved one is a way to pay recognition and tribute to an individual who has played an important role in your life. Either personally or together with family, the activity you choose is a method of commemorating your loved one in a unique way.
